§ 1671 Criminal justice planning committees

  • Board: means the Board of Counseling Professionals Licensure, established in section 13852. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 13851
  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Counseling: means assisting individuals, families or groups through the counseling relationship to develop understanding of intrapersonal and interpersonal problems, to define goals, to make decisions, to plan a course of action reflecting their needs, and to use information and community resources, as these procedures are related to personal, social, educational and vocational development.   • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
  • Department: means the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 13851
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Probation officers: Screen applicants for pretrial release and monitor convicted offenders released under court supervision.
  • Procedures of counseling: means methods and techniques that include, but are not limited to, the following. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 13851
