Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 8902

  • Commission: means the Public Utilities Commission. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 102
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Mobile telecommunications services: means telecommunications services licensed by the Federal Communications Commission for mobile use. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 102
To the extent permitted under federal law, the commission may exercise jurisdiction, control and regulation over mobile telecommunications services for the purpose of implementing central office code conservation measures. [PL 1999, c. 60, §3 (NEW).]
