- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. After the holding of any such sale, the money received from such sale, after deducting the cost of the conducting thereof, and any other money recovered and held included in the notice provided for in section 3, shall be turned over to the state treasurer to be credited to the general fund of the state.
