Terms Used In Michigan Laws 3.557

  • Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
  • Authority: means a base conversion authority as provided for in this act. See Michigan Laws 3.551
  • Department: means the department of commerce. See Michigan Laws 3.551
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
  • United States: shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
   The sole function of the authority is to serve as a holding and maintenance agency to receive property and assets from the United States department of defense and the state of Michigan. In order to carry out this function, the authority may exercise the powers relative to that property as described in section 8.
