Terms Used In Michigan Laws 3.572
- Authority: means a base conversion authority as provided for in this act. See Michigan Laws 3.571
- Base: means a federal military installation on the final list of base or facility closures submitted by the base realignment and closure commission to the president of the United States and subsequently approved by congress. See Michigan Laws 3.571
- Department: means the department of commerce. See Michigan Laws 3.571
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
- United States: shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
Upon notification by the United States government that a base in this state is to be closed, the governor may create by executive order such an authority pursuant to this act, within the department.
