Terms Used In Michigan Laws 3.580

  • Authority: means a base conversion authority as provided for in this act. See Michigan Laws 3.571
  • Base: means a federal military installation on the final list of base or facility closures submitted by the base realignment and closure commission to the president of the United States and subsequently approved by congress. See Michigan Laws 3.571
  • Concurrent resolution: A legislative measure, designated "S. Con. Res." and numbered consecutively upon introduction, generally employed to address the sentiments of both chambers, to deal with issues or matters affecting both houses, such as a concurrent budget resolution, or to create a temporary joint committee. Concurrent resolutions are not submitted to the President/Governor and thus do not have the force of law.
When the authority has completed the purpose for which it was organized, the authority may request the legislature to dissolve the authority by concurrent resolution. Upon dissolution of the authority, either by concurrent resolution or upon completion of the time period prescribed by this act, the property, books, records, files, and funds of the authority shall become property of the county in which the base is located and shall be held or disposed of by the county in a manner prescribed by law.
