Terms Used In Michigan Laws 54.276

  • Department: means the department of licensing and regulatory affairs. See Michigan Laws 54.262
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
  (1) The department, upon request, shall provide copies or certified copies of records in its possession to the public, other state agencies or officers, or local governmental agencies. The department may charge a reasonable fee for providing the records.
  (2) A certified copy of a record provided by the department is admissible in court as evidence, without further identification, if the substance of the record is properly admissible in the proceeding.
