- Advisory board: means each of the following:
(i) The building officials advisory board described in section 1005. See Michigan Laws 339.6001Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths. Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant. Approved: means reviewed and found acceptable by the commission. See Michigan Laws 339.6001 Board: means the board of boiler rules described in section 905. See Michigan Laws 339.5901 Board: means , in each article of this act that is related to a specific occupation or occupations, the board that is created in that article and composed principally of members of the regulated occupation or occupations, or the commission or other agency that is defined in or designated as the board for purposes of that article. See Michigan Laws 339.5103 Boiler: means a closed vessel in which water is heated, steam is generated, or steam is superheated, or a combination of those actions occurs, under pressure or vacuum by the application of heat from combustible fuels, electricity, or nuclear energy. See Michigan Laws 339.5901 Building official: means a construction code enforcement person working as an inspector, or plan reviewer, or actively engaged in the administration and enforcement of adopted building, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing codes, or any combination of these codes. See Michigan Laws 339.6001 casino: means a casino or a parking lot, hotel, motel, or retail store owned or operated by a casino, an affiliate, or an affiliated company, regulated by this state pursuant to the Michigan gaming control and revenue act, 1996 IL 1, MCL 432. See Michigan Laws 207.842 certificate: means the certificate issued under section 6. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Certificate inspection: means an inspection that is conducted for purposes of preparing a report described in section 945. See Michigan Laws 339.5901 Commercial property: means land improvements classified by law for general ad valorem tax purposes as real property including real property assessable as personal property pursuant to sections 8(d) and 14(6) of the general property tax act, 1893 PA 206, MCL 211. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Commercial rehabilitation tax: means the specific tax levied under this act. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Commission: means the state construction code commission created in section 3a of the Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act, 1972 PA 230, MCL 125. See Michigan Laws 339.6001 Commission: means the state tax commission created by 1927 PA 360, MCL 209. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Competence: means a degree of expertise that enables an individual to engage in an occupation at a level that meets or exceeds minimal standards of acceptable practice for the occupation. See Michigan Laws 339.5103 Department: means the department of treasury. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Department: means the department of licensing and regulatory affairs. See Michigan Laws 339.5103 district: means an area not less than 3 acres in size of a qualified local governmental unit established as provided in section 3. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Enforcing agency: means that term as defined in section 2a of the Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act, MCL 125. See Michigan Laws 339.5105 Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other. External inspection: means an inspection that does not involve examination of the internal surfaces of the pressure parts of the boiler. See Michigan Laws 339.5901 Fire protection system: means that term as defined in the Michigan building code. See Michigan Laws 339.6001 Fire protection system inspector: means an individual who meets the qualifications established under this article and is responsible for the inspection of fire protection systems in accordance with the design and installation standards referenced by the Michigan building code. See Michigan Laws 339.6001 Fire protection system plan reviewer: means an individual who meets the qualifications established under this article and is responsible for the review of fire protection system plans in accordance with the design and installation standards referenced by the Michigan building code. See Michigan Laws 339.6001 Foreclosure: A legal process in which property that is collateral or security for a loan may be sold to help repay the loan when the loan is in default. Source: OCC General public: means each individual who resides in this state and is 18 years of age or older, other than an individual or the spouse of an individual who is licensed or registered in the occupation or who has a material financial interest in the occupation that is regulated by the specific article in which the term is used. See Michigan Laws 339.5105 Governmental subdivision: means that term as defined in section 2a of the Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act, MCL 125. See Michigan Laws 339.5105 Grace period: The number of days you'll have to pay your bill for purchases in full without triggering a finance charge. Source: Federal Reserve in writing: shall be construed to include printing, engraving, and lithographing; except that if the written signature of a person is required by law, the signature shall be the proper handwriting of the person or, if the person is unable to write, the person's proper mark, which may be, unless otherwise expressly prohibited by law, a clear and classifiable fingerprint of the person made with ink or another substance. See Michigan Laws 8.3q Inspector: means the individual who is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the construction of buildings, structures, or appurtenances under the state construction code. See Michigan Laws 339.6003 License: includes the whole or part of a governmental permit, certificate, approval, registration, charter, or similar form of permission required under a specific article of this act. See Michigan Laws 339.5105 Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt. Michigan building code: means part 4 of the state construction code, R 408. See Michigan Laws 339.5107 Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan. Multifamily residential use: means multifamily housing consisting of 5 or more units. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period. Person: means an individual, sole proprietorship, partnership, association, limited liability company, corporation, or common law trust or a combination of those legal entities. See Michigan Laws 339.5107 Personal property: All property that is not real property. Plan reviewer: means an individual who is engaged in the practice of examining construction documents for the purpose of determining compliance with applicable codes. See Michigan Laws 339.6003 Power boiler: means a closed vessel in which steam or other vapor is generated at a pressure of more than 15 p. See Michigan Laws 339.5903 Process boiler: means a boiler that is operated at a pressure or temperature from which more than 10% of the boiler's capacity is used for direct steam humidification or direct process work. See Michigan Laws 339.5903 Provisional registration: means a building official, plan reviewer, or inspector who is registered subject to his or her completion of the amount of training, education, and experience required by the commission and the appropriate advisory board and described in section 1007(2). See Michigan Laws 339.6003 Qualified facility: means a qualified retail food establishment or a building or group of contiguous buildings of commercial property that is 15 years old or older or has been allocated for a new markets tax credit under section 45D of the internal revenue code, 26 USC 45D. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Qualified local governmental unit: means a city, village, or township. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Qualified retail food establishment: means property that meets all of the following:
(i) The property will be used primarily as a retail supermarket, grocery store, produce market, or delicatessen that offers unprocessed USDA-inspected meat and poultry products or meat products that carry the USDA organic seal, fresh fruits and vegetables, and dairy products for sale to the public. See Michigan Laws 207.842Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land. Registered: means a building official, plan reviewer, inspector, fire protection system inspector, or fire protection system plan reviewer who is registered under this article. See Michigan Laws 339.6003 Rehabilitation: means changes to a qualified facility that are required to restore or modify the property, together with all appurtenances, to an economically efficient condition. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Rule: means a rule promulgated under the administrative procedures act of 1969. See Michigan Laws 339.5107 seal: shall be construed to include any of the following:
(a) The impression of the seal on the paper alone. See Michigan Laws 8.3nstate: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o State construction code: means the rules promulgated by the state construction code commission under section 4 of the Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act, MCL 125. See Michigan Laws 339.5107 Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act: means 1972 PA 230, MCL 125. See Michigan Laws 339.5107 Taxable value: means the value determined under section 27a of the general property tax act, 1893 PA 206, MCL 211. See Michigan Laws 207.842 Underserved area: means an area determined by the Michigan department of agriculture that contains a low or moderate income census tract and a below average supermarket density, an area that has a supermarket customer base with more than 50% living in a low income census tract, or an area that has demonstrated significant access limitations due to travel distance.
