Terms Used In Minnesota Statutes 238.16

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Person: means any individual, trustee, partnership, municipality, association, corporation or other legal entity. See Minnesota Statutes 238.02
  • Resident: means a person or entity paying rent to a property owner. See Minnesota Statutes 238.02

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a gross misdemeanor. Any sentence imposed for any violation by a corporation shall be served by the senior resident officer of the corporation.
