32-2-940. False statement to obtain loan. A person who makes a statement, knowing it to be false, for the purpose of obtaining for that person or for any other person, firm, corporation, or association a loan of money from a mutual association or for the purpose of gaining an extension of time for the payment of any debt due the mutual association shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 1 year, or both.

Terms Used In Montana Code 32-2-940

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Mutual association: means any corporation that has been incorporated to conduct the business of receiving money on deposit from its members and making substantially all of its loans on one-to-four family real estate mortgage security. See Montana Code 32-2-603
  • Person: includes a corporation or other entity as well as a natural person. See Montana Code 1-1-201
