44-11-308. Limitation of powers. Except for the right granted by this part to jointly exercise powers, this part does not authorize any law enforcement agency of this state to exercise any power that it is not otherwise authorized to exercise.
Terms Used In Montana Code 44-11-308
- Law enforcement agency: means a public agency lawfully established by statute or executive order that is responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the enforcement of penal, traffic, regulatory, or game laws. See Montana Code 44-11-303
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
