7-32-2208. Actual confinement of inmates required. An inmate committed to a detention center for trial or examination or, except as provided in 7-32-2225 through 7-32-2227, a prisoner convicted must be actually confined in the detention center until the inmate or prisoner is legally discharged.
Terms Used In Montana Code 7-32-2208
- Detention center: means a facility established and maintained by an appropriate entity for the purpose of confining arrested persons or persons sentenced to the detention center. See Montana Code 7-32-2241
- Inmate: means a person who is confined in a detention center. See Montana Code 7-32-2241
- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
