  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Campground: means a parcel of land available to and principally used by the public for camping, where persons can camp, secure tents or cabins, or park trailers for camping and sleeping purposes. See Montana Code 50-52-101
  • Department: means the department of public health and human services provided for in 2-15-2201. See Montana Code 50-52-101
  • Establishment: means a campground, trailer court, work camp, or youth camp. See Montana Code 50-52-101
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Person: includes an individual, partnership, corporation, association, or other entity engaged in the business of operating, owning, or offering the services of a campground, trailer court, work camp, or youth camp. See Montana Code 50-52-101
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
  • Trailer court: means a parcel of land upon which two or more spaces are available to the public and designated for occupancy by trailers or mobile homes for use as residences. See Montana Code 50-52-101
  • Writing: includes printing. See Montana Code 1-1-203
