  • Acquittal:
    1. Judgement that a criminal defendant has not been proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
    2. A verdict of "not guilty."
     
  • Affirmed: In the practice of the appellate courts, the decree or order is declared valid and will stand as rendered in the lower court.
  • Approved certifying body: means a national certification organization which is approved by the board, certifies qualified surgical first assistants, has eligibility requirements related to education and practice, and offers an examination in an area of practice which meets guidelines and tests approved by the board. See Nebraska Statutes 38-3504
  • Approved surgical first assistant education program: means a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools or other accreditation entity approved by the board. See Nebraska Statutes 38-3505
