  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
  • United States: shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
If any person shall wilfully deface, injure, or remove any signals, monuments, buildings, or any appendage thereto, used or constructed under and by virtue of the acts of Congress aforesaid, he shall be fined $50 and shall also be liable for all damages sustained by the United States.
