Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 28:12

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The county commissioners may adopt rules and regulations for the governing and administration of county departments of corrections, including county farms, county nursing homes, county welfare offices and any other county departments under the jurisdiction of the county commissioners.
