  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
The deed of the officer making the sale shall briefly state his office, the names of the parties to the action in which the execution issued, the court and term at which the judgment was rendered, the consideration paid for the right or term sold, a description of the premises conveyed and of the right of the debtor therein; and it shall contain a covenant that the officer has observed all the requirements of law by virtue of which the deed is made.
