Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 568:1

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Probate: Proving a will
The court of probate of each county shall have original jurisdiction of all cases of insolvency arising in such county under the provisions of this chapter and shall at all suitable times be open for the transaction of business.
