Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 19:14-1

  • Election: means the procedure whereby the electors of this State or any political subdivision thereof elect persons to fill public office or pass on public questions. See New Jersey Statutes 19:1-1
  • General election: means the annual election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November and, where applicable, includes annual school elections and annual fire district elections held on that date. See New Jersey Statutes 19:1-1
19:14-1. Every county clerk shall have ready for the printer on or before the 60th day prior to the primary election and on or before the 64th day prior to the general election a copy of the contents of official ballots as hereinafter required to be printed for use at such election. The county clerk shall also on or before that time place another copy of such contents on file in the county clerk’s office and keep the same open to public inspection until the sample ballots hereinafter provided to be printed shall have been distributed.
