- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 6. a. A person who is involuntarily committed pursuant to section 5 of this act shall receive a court hearing with respect to the issue of continuing need for involuntary commitment as a sexually violent predator within 20 days from the date of the temporary commitment order.
b. The Attorney General is responsible for presenting the case for the person’s involuntary commitment as a sexually violent predator to the court.
c. A person subject to involuntary commitment shall have counsel present at the hearing and shall not be permitted to appear at the hearing without counsel.
