Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 30:4-49.3

  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
The settlement of a minor born out of wedlock shall be that of his mother; but such minor may acquire a separate settlement in the same manner as minors born in wedlock, as hereinafter provided.
