Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 30:4F-10

  • Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Human Services. See New Jersey Statutes 30:1-1
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 4. A sponsor shall annually determine the maximum number of eligible persons to be served in each county or region, based upon the service and cost limitations promulgated by the commissioner and the county allocation and other funds which may be available for the purposes of this act, and shall not admit or serve more eligible persons than can be afforded with available resources. Each sponsor shall maintain a waiting list of those eligible persons awaiting receipt of respite care, according to standards promulgated by the commissioner.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, an eligible veteran shall not be found to be ineligible to receive respite care based on the veteran’s income or liquid resources if they do not exceed $80,000 for a couple or $60,000 for a single person.
