Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 30:6D-26

  • Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Human Services. See New Jersey Statutes 30:1-1
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The administrator and head of the division shall be a director who shall be known as the Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities. The director shall be a person qualified by training and experience to perform the duties of the office and shall devote his entire time to the performance of those duties. The director shall be appointed by the commissioner.

The commissioner shall appoint and remove officers and employees of the division subject to the provisions of Title 11 of the Revised Statutes and other applicable statutes as are necessary to enable the division to perform its duties pursuant to this act and he shall fix their compensation within the limits of available appropriations and as is provided by law.
