Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 30:6E-4
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Human Services. See New Jersey Statutes 30:1-1
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. - State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
The commissioner shall appoint and remove officers and employees of the office subject to the provisions of Title 11A of the New Jersey Statutes and other applicable statutes as are necessary to enable the office to perform its duties pursuant to this act and he shall fix their compensation within the limits of available appropriations and as is provided by law. In order to utilize the State‘s disabled citizens in the work of the Office of Disability Services to the maximum extent possible, the commissioner or director, as appropriate, also may appoint, retain or employ officers or consultants on a contract basis or otherwise, as deemed necessary, and employ other qualified personnel who shall be in the noncompetitive division of the career service of the Civil Service.
