Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 30:9-23.3

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The said medical director when appointed jointly by the county and municipality under the provisions of this act shall have power to appoint one assistant who shall possess qualifications as those herein described as applicable for the appointment of a medical director. If the medical director appoints as his assistant a person who is now connected with the medical institutions of the county or the municipality, the compensation agreed to be paid to the said assistant shall be assumed and paid by the governing body under whom he is employed at the time of his appointment. If the assistant so appointed is not at the time of his appointment connected with either the medical institutions of the city or county, entering into the joint agreement, the county and the city shall each pay one-half of the compensation agreed to be paid to said assistant.
