Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 44:8-140.1

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 1. A person who willfully obtains benefits to which he is not entitled and a provider who willfully receives payments to which he is not entitled under the “Work First New Jersey General Public Assistance Act,” P.L.1947, c.156 (C. 44:8-107 et seq.), shall be subject to the applicable civil and criminal penalties contained in the “New Jersey Medical Assistance and Health Services Act,” P.L.1968, c.413 (C. 30:4D-1 et seq.).
