Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 44:8-145.4

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 31. a. A person who is a full-time employee of a municipal welfare agency, or who works on a full-time basis for municipal welfare agencies in two or more municipalities, on the effective date of P.L.1995, c.259 (C. 40A:4-6.1 et al.) who is transferred to the county welfare agency of the county in which the municipality is located pursuant to section 28 of P.L.1995, c.259 (C. 44:8-145.1), shall suffer no reduction in remuneration or the length of service credited to that employee.

b. A county and municipality may arrange, subject to mutual agreement, for one or more former municipal welfare agency employees who are employed by the county welfare agency to continue to provide services from a municipal building.
