Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 52:17B-41.18

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 18. Any person who, after this act becomes operative, shall practice as a licensed ophthalmic dispenser or ophthalmic technician as defined in section five of this act, or hold himself out to be a qualified or licensed ophthalmic dispenser or ophthalmic technician, or designate himself by any other term or title which implies that he is an ophthalmic dispenser or ophthalmic technician without having been licensed as a qualified ophthalmic dispenser or ophthalmic technician, by the board, shall be liable to a penalty of two hundred dollars ($200.00), which penalty shall be recovered in a summary manner in the Superior Court in the manner prescribed by the rules of procedure for those courts.
