  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The Office of Community Services shall be under the immediate supervision of a director, who shall be a person qualified by training and experience to direct the work of such office. The director shall be appointed by the commissioner and shall serve at the pleasure of the commissioner and until the director’s successor is appointed and has qualified. He shall receive such salary as shall be provided by law.

The director shall administer the work of the office under the direction and supervision of the commissioner, and shall perform such other functions of the department as the commissioner may prescribe.
