Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 52:27D-19

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The Division of Local Finance shall be under the immediate supervision of a director, who shall be a person qualified by training and experience to direct the work of such division. The director shall be appointed by the commissioner and shall serve at the pleasure of the commissioner and until the director’s successor is appointed and has qualified. He shall receive such salary as shall be provided by law.

The director shall administer the work of such division under the direction and supervision of the commissioner, and shall perform such other functions of the department as the commissioner may prescribe.

The person in office as director of the Division of Local Government in the Department of the Treasury on the effective date of this act shall hold the office of Director of the Division of Local Finance in the Department of Community Affairs established hereunder for the period of his term as director of the Division of Local Government in the Department of the Treasury which remains unexpired on the effective date of this act, and until his successor is appointed and has qualified.
