  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
2. After the Division of Taxation in the Department of the Treasury is reimbursed for costs incurred in the collection of the fee imposed pursuant to section 1 of P.L.2004, c.46 (C. 54:32F-1), the first $2.3 million collected in each fiscal year shall be deposited in the Tire Management and Cleanup Fund, established pursuant to section 3 of P.L.2004, c.46 (C. 13:1E-224). Any additional revenue collected shall be available for appropriation to the Department of Transportation to support snow removal operations.
