Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 54:40A-5

  • Continuance: Putting off of a hearing ot trial until a later time.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The director may, upon notice and after hearing, suspend or revoke the license or all licenses issued to any person under this act who violates any of the provisions of this act, or who, after being issued a license becomes disqualified for licensure pursuant to this act or of any rule or regulation of the director, made pursuant thereto or if the licensee has ceased to act in the capacity for which the license was issued or for other good cause. No person whose license has been suspended or revoked shall sell cigarettes or permit cigarettes to be sold during the period of such suspension or revocation on the premises occupied by him or upon other premises controlled by him or others or in any other manner or form whatever. Nor shall any disciplinary proceeding or action be barred or abated by the expiration, transfer, surrender, continuance, renewal or extension of any license issued under the provisions of this act.
