Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 120C-502

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. (a) An individual who is an employee of a governmental unit whose principal duties, in practice or as set forth in that individual’s job description, include lobbying for legislative action shall register under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 120C-200

(b) N.C. Gen. Stat. § 120C-501 shall apply to an individual required to register under subsection (a) of this section.

(c) For purposes of publication of the registry under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 120C-220, the Secretary of State shall treat individuals registered under this section as liaison personnel. (2010-169, s. 5(a); 2017-6, s. 3; 2018-146, s. 3.1(a), (b).)
