(a) Repealed by Session Laws 1973, c. 1262, s. 51.
(b) Committee on Law and Order. – The Committee on Law and Order shall have policy-making and supervisory authority over the policies, programs, and activities of the Department in the field of the administration of criminal justice in assisting and participating with State and local law-enforcement agencies, at their request, to improve law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice.

- Department: means the Department of Environmental Quality. See North Carolina General Statutes 143-320
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies.
