Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 55A-11A-10

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

A charitable or religious corporation may convert to a domestic limited liability company if the converting charitable or religious corporation complies with the requirements of this part and the requirements of N.C. Gen. Stat. § 57D-9-20, 57D-9-21, and 57D-9-22. (2016-114, s. 5.)
