Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 90-21.23

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. For the purpose of making applicable in the State the early opt-in provisions of Title 4 of the “Health Care Quality Improvement Act of 1986,” P.L. 99-660, the State elects to exercise on October 1, 1987, the provisions of Title 4, Section 411(c)(2)(A) of that act to promote good faith professional review activities.
