(1) At all hearings pertaining to lands owned by the state, the Director of the Department of State Lands may administer oaths and take depositions. The State Land Board may issue subpoenas to compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents or other necessary written information.

- Board: means the State Land Board. See Oregon Statutes 273.006
- Department: means the Department of State Lands. See Oregon Statutes 273.006
- Director: means the Director of the Department of State Lands. See Oregon Statutes 273.006
- Land: includes water, water rights, easements of every nature and all appurtenances to land. See Oregon Statutes 273.006
- Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
- Testify: Answer questions in court.
(2) If any person served with a subpoena issued under this section fails to obey the subpoena without legal excuse, or refuses to testify on matters on which the person lawfully may be interrogated, the procedure provided in ORS § 183.440 shall be followed to compel obedience. [Formerly 273.430]
