(1) A plaintiff has a cause of action for the recovery of compensatory damages from any person who violates ORS § 165.815.
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 30.863
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
- Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
(2) In an action brought under subsection (1) of this section, the court may award the prevailing party costs and reasonable attorney fees. [2016 c.22 § 2]
