(1) Any quarantine imposed by the State Department of Agriculture pursuant to ORS § 596.392, 596.394, 596.402 or 596.404 shall be for such period of time as will reasonably insure that the quarantined livestock, property, premises or place are no longer capable of transmitting or causing the transmission of the disease.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 596.396

  • Department: means the State Department of Agriculture. See Oregon Statutes 596.010
  • Disease: means any disease of livestock which may be transmitted or communicated through direct or indirect contact from one animal to another, including those diseases transmitted by or through livestock to humans. See Oregon Statutes 596.010
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100

(2) All expenses of cleaning, treatment and disinfecting required by the department pursuant to ORS § 596.371, 596.392, 596.394 and 596.404 shall be paid by the owner or person in possession of the livestock, property or premises. [1953 c.689 § 6; 1955 c.557 § 26]
