(1) The Oregon Medical Board shall encourage each physician with a specialty in primary care or geriatrics, or another specialty designated by the board, to obtain continuing medical education in the detection and early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and in the appropriate prescribing of antipsychotic drugs to treat patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 677.487

  • Board: means the Oregon Medical Board. See Oregon Statutes 677.010
  • Physician: means a person who holds a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or a person who holds a degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine if the context in which the term 'physician' is used does not authorize or require the person to practice outside the scope of a license issued under ORS § 677. See Oregon Statutes 677.010

(2) The continuing medical education described in subsection (1) of this section shall be considered relevant continuing medical education for all licensees of the board and the hours may be applied to any required continuing medical education requirements. [2017 c.679 § 34]
