(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, all podiatric physicians and surgeons licensed under this chapter shall complete at least 50 hours in an approved program of continuing podiatric education every two calendar years and shall submit satisfactory evidence thereof to the Oregon Medical Board when the license is renewed.

  • Board: means the Oregon Medical Board. See Oregon Statutes 677.010
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • License: means permission to practice, whether by license, registration or certification. See Oregon Statutes 677.010
  • Physician: means a person who holds a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or a person who holds a degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine if the context in which the term 'physician' is used does not authorize or require the person to practice outside the scope of a license issued under ORS § 677.   • Podiatric physician and surgeon: means a physician licensed under ORS § 677. See Oregon Statutes 677.010

(2) The board may exempt a licensed podiatric physician and surgeon from the requirements of subsection (1) of this section upon a finding by the board that the podiatric physician and surgeon was unable to comply with the requirements because of extenuating circumstances. [Formerly 677.455]
