Terms Used In South Carolina Code 10-5-290

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Facilities: means all building elements defined or specified by ANSI A117. See South Carolina Code 10-5-220
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
A person who is denied access to buildings, structures, or facilities, or is otherwise deprived of rights as a citizen as declared in the statement of state policy set forth in § 10-5-210 may enforce these rights by injunction and recover damages in a proper case in the court of common pleas.
