Terms Used In South Carolina Code 11-29-10

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
With respect to the issuance of additional state capital improvement bonds pursuant to the provisions of Act 1377 of 1968 and with respect to the issuance of state school bonds pursuant to Article 5, Chapter 71 of Title 59 of the 1976 Code, which bonds are henceforth to be secured solely by a pledge of the full faith, credit and taxing power of the State, the State Treasurer is hereby directed to set aside from the tax revenues received in each fiscal year in which the interest on and principal of state capital improvement bonds or state school bonds will become due so much of such tax revenues as may be necessary in order to pay the principal of and interest on all state capital improvement bonds and all state school bonds due and falling due in such fiscal year and the State Treasurer shall thereafter apply such monies to the punctual payment of such principal and interest as the same respectively fall due.
