Terms Used In South Carolina Code 58-9-2160

  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
Nothing herein contained shall bar any action for actual or punitive damages growing out of any violations of the provisions of § 58-9-2150 and any such cause of action may be united in the same complaint as an action for the recovery of the penalty provided in said section.
