Terms Used In South Carolina Code 61-8-60

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
Liquors seized as provided in this chapter and the vessels containing the liquors must not be taken from the custody of the officers in possession thereof by a writ of replevin or other process, except as provided in § 61-8-20. No suit shall lie for damages alleged to arise by seizure and detention of liquors under this chapter.
