(a) Any party dissatisfied with the decree of the court may appeal to the court of appeals in the manner provided by the Tennessee Rules of Appellate Procedure.

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 27-9-112

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Appellate: About appeals; an appellate court has the power to review the judgement of another lower court or tribunal.
  • Docket: A log containing brief entries of court proceedings.
(b) Such appeal shall be advanced upon the docket of the court of appeals as one of such precedence, and heard as promptly as practicable.
