This chapter also applies to a transfer made on or after October 1, 1992, if:

(1) The transfer purports to have been made under the Tennessee Uniform Gifts to Minors Act; or

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 35-7-122

  • Custodian: means a person so designated, including a person designated as a joint custodian pursuant to §. See Tennessee Code 35-7-102
  • State: includes any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and any territory or possession subject to the legislative authority of the United States. See Tennessee Code 35-7-102
  • Transfer: means a transaction that creates custodial property under this chapter. See Tennessee Code 35-7-102
(2) The instrument by which the transfer purports to have been made uses in substance the designation “as custodian under the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act” or “as custodian under the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act” of any other state, and the application of this chapter is necessary to validate the transfer.
