There are created and established the following administrative departments of state government:

(1) Department of agriculture;

  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105

(3) Department of children’s services;

(5) Department of correction;

(7) Department of education;
(8) Department of environment and conservation;
(9) Department of finance and administration;
(10) Department of financial institutions;
(11) Department of general services;
(12) Department of health;
(13) Department of human resources;
(14) Department of human services;
(15) Department of disability and aging;
(16) Department of labor and workforce development;
(17) Department of mental health and substance abuse services;
(18) Department of revenue;
(19) Department of safety;
(20) Department of state;
(21) Department of tourist development;
(22) Department of transportation;
(23) Department of the treasury;
(24) Department of veterans services; and
(25) Legal department.
