(a) The department of health is hereby designated as the department to administer this part as provided in Title XIX or as provided by any federal waiver received by the state that waives any or all of the provisions of Title XIX or pursuant to any other federal law as adopted by amendment to the required Title XIX state plan.

Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
Title XIX: means Title XIX of the Social Security Act as amended (P. See Tennessee Code 71-5-103
(b) The bureau of TennCare shall notify each member of the general assembly via electronic mail or other type of electronic communication when it:
(1) Proposes a change in services or reimbursement that affects more than two thousand five hundred (2,500) beneficiaries; or(2) Proposes a change that will affect current or future appropriations made by the general assembly in any amount that is greater than ten million dollars ($10,000,000).(c) The bureau of TennCare shall report at least quarterly to members of the Tennessee general assembly via electronic mail or other type of electronic communication on the following:
(1) Status of TennCare reform and improvements;(2) Number of recipients on TennCare and costs to the state;(3) Viability of MCOs and providers in the TennCare program; and(4) Success of fraud detection and prevention.(d) The bureau of TennCare shall concurrently transmit to members of the general assembly via electronic mail or other type of electronic communication TennCare’s annual budget proposal when presented in a public forum.
