- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
In addition to the recovery of the rental charges, the owner of real property who is required to retain legal counsel to recover the amounts subject to the possessory lien under § 347.402 is entitled to recover:
(1) other actual damages;
(2) attorney’s fees; and
(3) court costs.
